How do you know if a guy likes you?

Most of my years I’ve been pretty good at being able to tell if guys like me. Whether the teasing, being mean, or being extra nice or being funny to certain people. I know all guys are different so how can I really know.

Recently there’s been this guy I like. So for background knowledge I’ve known this guy since we were kids but we weren’t close friends. So the past few months we started talking again in class since like 2-3 years ago since we haven’t been in the same class. Our talks at the start when we sat next to each other were very interesting never boring fairly odd but I kinda liked that. For example one time we were having a conversation and we finished but like a minute after randomly he said “are you a broom cause you swept me off my feet” now to me it wasn’t directed at me but like who else. I said what cause I didn’t know what else to say. After the seating arrangements change we don’t really talk much. But at some point my friend sat near him and idk how the conversation started but he described his type and it just so happened to be something similar to me. Then my friends not knowing I like him ship me with him and he just sighs not answers usually. Anyways months pass and we don’t talk but I see him staring and he goes next to me when ever he can. But before the winter break he felt different cause his friends randomly started saying good luck and stuff and it seemed like he was gonna confess cause one time he said he was ready and then he walked out . I left after him and his friend said “oh shoot (bros name” calling him. Then I saw his friends the next day standing in a circle which was unusual so Inkidna said that out loud. And later I heard bro say “If only she knew why we were standing in a circle, if only she knew”
Months pass again and now we haven’t really talked mostly exchanged glances and stuff. So we went on a class trip and we were at the same lunch table group and my friend (who still doesn’t know) started shipping us since we were sitting straight across from each other. I saw his friend tap his leg and smile but I noo. I felt bad but he look kinda sad. Then yesterday irlsgirlswere talking about finest guys in the school and then they asked him the most attractive girl and he said he would say it but only to the two girls talking to him but as soon as I got up to get something near him he got really worried and scared right at me.
